Alcohol and Weight Loss

One thing I forgot to mention. A warning to others: don't go drinking with friends after loosing a lot of weight quickly. You won't be mentally and physically ready. I was use to drinking and metabolizing alcohol at a weight of approximately 170 pounds. I wore a size 10 pants. I had a high tolerance for alcohol too. 8-10 shots for a buzz and 11-14 shots for drunk. Now I'm 130 (appx) and wear a size 4 pants. I'm not use to being thin. I went out with my fellow roller girls for a few drinks and I had a pretty good buzz going after about 4 shots, gluten free Tito's vodka. 6 shots down and I was almost down. I thought it was some fluke thing. I hadn't started drinking socially again until I joined roller derby (imagine that). A couple of weeks ago, between rounds, we go out again and sure enough 6 shots down and I had more than enough. It also took a hell of a lot longer to wear off. Hours went by and I was still feeling the affects. Two things later dawned on me. Your liver takes a beating on the HCG. It's busy converting fat. Once your fat reserves are gone you get drunk easier. I use to always think those skinny girls couldn't hold their alcohol. OMG I was the skinny girl.

So if you've recently lost a significant amount of weight, you've stabilized (I hadn't) and are ready to re-introduce alcohol, do it at home with a trusted friend. You just might be the skinny girls that can't hold her liquor.

Yo Yo

Today's Weight: 132.8 lbs

I feel like I'm on some yo yo diet. I keep going up and down with my weight. One problem has been that I've been hitting immunity with my HCG. I was so hungry for the last week that I kept going on eating binges. I would stick strictly to the diet until mid day and then I wanted to chew off my own knuckles. All I could think about was food and eating. Once I did decide that I had to have some food I would eat a lot. I ate one pint of ice cream, a box of cereal, and various bags of chips. All in a few hours. TOM visited all week long and I got off the HCG for 3 days and began my dose again yesterday. I feel much better today. It's amazing the difference the HCG makes. Yes, you will lose weight if you only eat 500 calories a day. You'll also go crazy with food cravings. The HCG makes all the difference. I don't know how much longer it's going to work. I do need to take a big break from rounds. I wouldn't think a year off would be too much. I've done four rounds in one year and some of those have been modified. If I ever do this again I will not exercise during my rounds. Roller derby burns too many calories and demands too much from your body. I felt so wobbly and slow. It was like slipping on ice through a tub of molasses.

My goal had been 125 lb. My target weight range for a 5 ft 6in small frame is 117-125lb. A year ago I never thought I would be 133.0 lbs. I don't think I'll make the 125. I have about 2 days of HCG left and I'm sure it won't take too much longer for me to hit immunity again and want to eat my pillow.

No Weight For Me

I didn't take my weight today or yesterday. PMS has struck me and all bets are off regarding the diet. I had a crazy little night on Friday and didn't want to see the damage I had done Saturday morning. I figured as long as I kept to the diet plan I shouldn't have any unexpected surprises. I just couldn't handle seeing the scale jump 5 pounds and ruin all the hard work it took to lose those 5.  As I get closer to my goal weight it gets harder to lose the weight. The HCG isn't working as well, I suspect I'm becoming immune to it.

I also got my invisalign braces. They are a custom made system of alignment trays that you were all the time except when you eat. Every two weeks you change out the adjusted mold and use that tray for 2 weeks and so on and so forth. It should straighten out my teeth. But it's difficult to pop the mouth guards off the teeth so I've been eating my snack around the same tim as I eat dinner/lunch.I'm getting use to having the mouth guards in my mouth and they're helping me not just run around the house munching on bad things.

I'm going to go get caught up on my blog reading. I'll weigh myself tomorrow and see how it's been.

Veggie and Queso Quiche

Veggie & Cheese Quiche

SUBMITTED BY: ELENASAN

You can use any veggies in this quiche, and any cheeses besides the ricotta. I make it without the crust to keep it gluten-free but you can put it in a pie shell, too.

 Minutes to Prepare and Cook

Ingredients

2 large eggs 2.5 oz ricotta cheese (a little more than 1/4 cup) 1 cup skim milk (you can use whole) 1/2 cup chopped asparagus 1 small green bell pepper, chopped 1 very small onion (about 1.7 oz), chopped 1.5 oz Swiss cheese diced or shredded 2 Tbsp grated cheese (I use Romano) 1 slice 2% American cheese 1 Tbsp chopped chives 1 tsp minced garlic tsp olive oil

Directions

Put the chopped veggies in the microwave on high for about 40-60 seconds -- long enough to soften them and get out some of the liquid.

Preheat oven to 350.

Beat the eggs, add ricotta and milk. Mix well. Stir in Swiss and grated cheeses, and garlic.

Use oil to grease the bottom and sides of a casserole. Put veggies into casserole. Pour egg/cheese mixture over it. Tear up slice of American cheese and lay on top at even intervals. Garnish with chives.

Bake for about an hour, until the cheese starts to brown and the eggs are cooked. Cut into 4 servings.

Finally Back On The Right Track

Weight: 133.8 lbs

Weight on 4/2: 136.6

Phase 2

I started a new batch of HCG yesterday and I wasn't hungry or craving everything in my path. I think the HCG I had last time might have been an issue. When I opened the vial I broke the top off and let air into it. I noticed it made air bubbles and I might have denatured the HCG. That might have been why I had such a difficult time and actually gained weight not lost it.
