Phase 4ish
Yesterday I think I retained some water due to a crazy work out I did on Thursday. I also got hungry and started craving more carbs. I've noticed that if ever I have a tough practice or work out I really begin to crave carbohydrates. It makes sense. I still limit the amount of carbohydrates I have or attempt to make better choices on the type of carbs I eat. Sticking to quinoa instead of rice and homemade white corn tortillas. I haven't had cereal in the house. I can go through a box in 2 days and that's only because I'm controlling myself I, usually I can eat a box a day.
One day I'm having a difficult time staying away from is the Healthy Choice fudge bars. It's great that they are 100 calories and only 5g sugar/5g alcohol sugar. But I can eat 3 of them as "one" serving. So I've been having to use some major self restraint and eating just one. I know that diet food isn't recommended but I had a little bit of trouble with "regular" food the last few rounds being that portion control is an issue for me.
I've been very relaxed about the "dieting". I just try not to obsess about it and that's really helped.

Tuna Salad Lettuce Boats
Today I had made tuna salad lettuce boats. I make them with hearts of romaine. I didn't have any celery but usually I add celery and an apple. Omit the raisons if on P3.

1 small lettuce kid's size box of raisons

Phase 3 and Phase 4 (eat more Phase 3 foods than phase 4 but do eat carbs and sugars in limited amounts)
The last couple of days I was hungry. Not hungry for broccoli either. All I wanted was cereal and junk food, a lot of it. I think it's hormonal since I noticed some water retention before the cravings hit in. So I ate. I even ate french fries and a frosty Tuesday. I didn't even weigh myself on Tuesday, what the hell for? I wasn't interested in dieting that day any way! So yesterday I made sure the food that I ate was better quality, no more naughty food, and I'm glad to say I'm down 2 pounds, most of it I'm sure was water. I wasn't hungry yesterday so I think the hormone spell only lasted 2 days. One thing I did different this time around was not to stress about it. I think once we begin to really stress out about the scale it makes situations worse. Dieting doesn't have to be fun but you shouldn't be completely miserable. You'll never stick with it. Self loathing and beating yourself off because you decided to eat a piece of cheese cake or even the whole cheese cake isn't productive either. I hated when coaches in school made you run laps as punishment for coming in last. Even til this day, I HATE RUNNING. I don't want to hate dieting or living a healthy live style. So as long as you keep up good habits overall and not stress about the chocolate that attacks you and jumps into your mouth you'll be much happier.

Phase 4
This is what I hate, I ate 5 carrot sticks, 4 celery sticks and 2 little blocks of cheddar cheese. I had a horrible stomach ache. Was it the cheese? Maybe it wasn't cheddar? American maybe. Ug. Today I woke up with the bloated achy tummy. Who knows. I'm going to take it easy today and see how it goes. Trying to figure out what makes my stomach get angry is always an adventure.

1800 Calories and Derby
Today's Weight: 136.4

Phase 4
Though I wouldn't recommend straying from Dr. S's original advise I have to admit that doing the HCG on for a week (about 5-7 days) and off for a week has been working well for me. I've actually been able to maintain my weight and I'm not starving. I have a hunch that the amount of calories I burn and the thyroid issues I'm dealing with have a lot to do with it. So I'm glad I kept with it regardless, even if it is a bit modified.

Here is a more updated picture of me. I'm the one in the middle.
I did a derby boot camp this weekend and I stayed close to a Whole Foods Market. I ate more carbs than usual. They were all pretty good carbs though. Quinoa, carrots, and polenta. I wondered about how many calories I'd burn in a day of derby. First of all, 6 hours of non-stop rollerskating is my limit. I couldn't do the 10 hours a day (9a- appx 7pm). Sunday I was able to stand another 6-7 hours. I was with a skater that wore a calorie tracker... I can't remember what their called right now. She did the same amount of skating as I did and she burned about 1800 calories in 6 hours.
My ideal weight is 125-130. I still have some HCG left and debating on picking up another 5 days and seeing how far I get. I'm not sure right now. I'm still enjoying maintaining.
So for everyone out there who is having a difficult time with the diet restrictions or with maintaining the weight loss just hang in there. Don't give up. Your body needs time to adapt to the stress. Even though you lose the weight in days and weeks it takes your body months to years to adapt.

Sinful Cupcakes

TOM
2nd Day no injection
I did see a loss today but I had been holding off on having any sweets for my birthday which was a few days ago. Today a neighbor brought me over an organic gluten free cupcake. Oh my, it was incredible. I ate it, did a happy dance, and I think even tinkled myself in happiness. If I have a gain tomorrow I will do the responsible thing and accept responsibility for my sin. But damn it was good.

Round 3 VLCD
The difference in weight was huge this morning. I jumped up and down on the scale but it still read the same.
I didn't eat much yesterday, stuck strictly to Dr. S's plan and drank tons of water. I was feeling sick to my stomach and TOM is indecisive. So yesterday's weight increase must have included a few pounds worth of water weight. I don't feel that great today either, I think it's some stomach virus. We'll see what my weight does.

VLCD
Today I actually stayed to 500 calories. I woke up feeling sick to my stomach. TOM is lightly here so finally my PMS cravings have stopped. Last night I had a class of wine and ate very late at night. I ate some cheese which of course is a no no and doesn't sit well with my stomach. Hopefully getting sick after 'cheating' will teach me to stick to the foods and amounts Dr. S recommends.

Round 3 Phase 2 Day 34
Here comes September! Time goes by so fast. I'm still doing alright with my semi low calorie phase 2. Still eating some carbs like the corn/quinoa/flax cereal, a corn tortilla here and there, and some gluten free fortune cookies (1). Both yesterday and today I did not take my diet pills and I was fine through out the day. When I get hungry or start craving carbs I have a little bit and that usually takes away the cravings. My plan for phase 3 is to stick to what I'm doing now but just increase the amount of protein and veggies. Veggies are difficult to incorporate into our diet in large quantities in our house. I've been searching blogs and sites for recipe and menu ideas.
I'll be going to Denver in September to do the Rocky Mountain Rollergirl boot camp. That's going to kick my butt. The altitude is not what I'm use to here in Texas. I've planned on making a bento breakfast/ lunch for the plane trip there. I have a laptop lunch box.

I pack laptop lunch boxes/ bento boxes for my kids for school. I started when my son started going to school and was such a picky eater. I've found it is a great way to also keep me on track with my diet when I know gluten free/carb free/sugar free/lactose free/nut free menus aren't going to be readily available. Bento just refers to the way the portable lunch is packaged. It's usually in bite size portions that consists of a rice/noodle portion, a protein portion and vegetable portion. That's simplified version of it any way. The lunch boxes themselves come in all cute colors, size or shapes. There are also molds and accessories used to decorate the food.
I have to admit, I love bento boxes and bento style lunches. I'm a total dork. I have the rice molds and the egg molds. I have cookie cutter, cheese cutters, picks and silicon cups/dividers. I've been known to dye my kid's rice or noodles pink/purple/green.

Of course, rice is a no no in P2 and P3 but I used kelp noodles for some of the noodle substitutes. You can also just omit the rice while on P2 and P3. It's still just as cute!
