Egg Day Results

Today's Weight: 132.4

Yesterday's Weight: 134.8

Phase 4

Egg day results were good. I had gone up a lot thanks to TOM looming. I hate TOM. I wanted to eat everything that was sweet. The last couple of days I was hungry and craving ice cream. I had a large mexican vanilla ice cream with chocolate chips from a local business and then I still came home and ate more ice cream. I ate about 3 bowls of cereal too. When I get a craving for something it totally occupies my thoughts. I get obsessive compulsive. People talk to me and I swear all I hear is "blah blah blah ice blah cream blah." I decided to give in to it and deal with it later. Yesterday was difficult since TOM hasn't come or gone yet but I managed to stay true to the correction. Today I didn't want to see any eggs!

Chia Seeds and Weight Loss

Today's Weight: 132.8

LIW: 130.6

For a few months now I've been eating Chia seeds with my homemade yogurt. I don't remember how I heard about these but I read that they were beneficial for weight loss. These things are weird but good. They have a lot of calcium, protein, potassium, and boron. They also tend to prolong the absorption of carbohydrates. You can eat them whole or ground up but you can also make this funky gel out of them if you add water.

The gel contains mucilage fibers that when in water make a ....well...mucus like substance. Ok, I know, it sounds disgusting. But this mucus (for lack of a more appealing descriptive word) can coat the stomach, slowing down the carbohydrate conversion process. This hydrophilic property makes them ideal for hydration. You can sneak the seeds into your diet slowly and they hide well in food. I add them to yogurt but I've eaten the gel by itself too. You can also bake with it so you can add a teaspoon or two into your next patch of cookies. Another benefit is that they are cheap. They due have a high oil content so they are not to be used in Phase 2, only in Phase 3 and Phase 4.

I think the gel is a bit difficult for people to eat if they have an aversion to chunky slimy textures. For beginners they are best hid in smoothies. Just add a tsp or two like you would flax seed.

If you absolutely can't eat the, you can always use them to make you and your family a chi chi chi Chia Pet.

Cauliflower Smashed Potatos

Today's Weight: 133.0

I really like this blog, The Spunky Coconut. Not only do I like the name but they have some recipes that can be useful during Phase 3. I can not do dairy without suffering gastric revenge and her recipes are gluten-free, casein-free, and sugar-free. If you can do milk then use milk in stead of the 'weird' milk alternatives.

Recipe copied from The Spunky Coconut also, written by blogger Kelly.

Cauliflower Mock Mashed Potatoes

Cut one large head of cauliflower into bits and steam until fork tender.

Add the steamed cauliflower to the food processor with:

1/2 tsp Herbamare seasoning
1 tbsp ghee (which is casein-free), or other butter substitute
2 to 3 tablespoons cashew milk

Puree. Scrape the sides and continue to puree till creamy and smooth.
Top with fresh parsley.

Makes 4 servings.

I substitue the cashew milk with Central Market Ancient Grains milk or you can just use milk. She uses Herbamare seasoning and I use Mrs. Dash Original Blend or Bragg Organic Sprinkle Seasoning.

133.0 Shrinking and Sad Belly Buttons

Today's Weight: 133.0

A tiny bit up from yesterday and I was good with my diet yesterday.  I made grilled chicken for dinner and wrapped it up in lettuce. For lunch I had spinach, cheese (a no no), and chicken sausage with a medallion of feta cheese. There is the cheese again...and again. I know I will have to stop the milk eventually but I'm going to hold out as long as I can! The weight may still be left over from the chips! I was so bad! I don't stress out about it too much but do want to make sure I correct the problem. I will cut down on my dairy today, no cheese and I am going to have 24 hour homemade yogurt for my milk fix.

I continued taking the magnesium/potassium supplements and have just added a calcium/vit D chewable from Cosco... fudge flavored of course and with milk. Will I learn? Nope.

I did notice that my skin has receded some. There still is wrinkled up pocket where my pot belly use to be. I still have a sad belly button. You know, when your skin droops on your tummy and makes your belly button look like an upside down frown. :( I'm not too upset about the droopy skin. I'm pretty grateful I've been able to lose the weight.

I'll put up some recipes today for phase 3 and phase 4.

Acne papules after HCG

Weight: 132.4 lbs

LIW: 130.6
LIW Difference: 1.8

Damn Cosco for carrying a family size bag of Terra Sweet Potato Chips. But they're vegetables, they must be good for you! ;) I ate one family size bag in a 24 hour period. I gained two pounds that night. I've been able to successfully do modified correction days to come down to the 2 pound LIW weight.

Nothing eventful had happened so I hadn't written. These are the last few weights since December 11th:

133.2
133
132.0
131.8
132.4
133.4
133.4
132.8
131.2
131.6
133.4
132.4

Pretty steady. It's roller derby off season so I'm not surprised I'm not closer to the 130.6 from my LIW. I've been making some crappy food decision also. Like eating a whole family size bag of sweet potato chips. I also can't stay away from dairy products and that makes a huge difference in my amount of water retention. If I could commit to being 100 % dairy free it would be much easier. My correction days have not been bad though. I really am not complaining and feel very grateful that I haven't gained more. I don't do steak days because I can't stand being hungry until dinner time. I just make sure I do Phase 3 days to bring down the weight.

My hair is still growing back from the HCG rounds. It looks so odd. Since my hair is curly I look like I have horns since the hair isn't long enough to pull back. It's only about 3 inches long. I also have gotten acne. But it's not "regular" acne, it's sort of bumps under the skin that never fully surface, papules. Has anyone had acne problems after HCG rounds and how did you fight it?
