I've been feeling a little under the weather and haven't written. I've also been busy reading up on the SCD diet. It's the Specific Carbohydrate Diet. It's very similar to the HCG diet. After doing the HCG diet I started reading up and getting information on what I can do to maintain phase 4 for the rest of my life and how I could incorporate healthy eating to everyone in my family. I was the only one that was overweight so that wasn't the issue. But I do want all of us to eat as healthy as possible. My son does appear to have GI issues and craves carbs. I remember how difficult it was to "detox" and get my GI healthier those first few days on HCG. I suspect my son needs to go through something similar and then we all need to watch those starches/carbs and gluten. The SCD diet uses almond flour and homemade natural ingredients. It's way to strict for Phase 3 and Phase 4 and they do allow no no carrots. But if you modify the stevia for honey and omit the carrots it's pretty yummy. I made my first almond flour cookies last night. They were pretty good. They looked like cookies, smelled like cookies and even tasted like cookies. Since it was for my family I used honey so I could only have a crumb! But I start phase 4 in a few days and I'm going to try to introduce honey and bananas and that's about it. I'm actually a little scared but all I can do is try to maintain my LIW and change my old carb/gluten diet lifestyle. Though I have to admit, I'm looking forward to those 2 loading days before I start Round 2 of HCG! I've felt a lot better without carbs and have noticed that my allergies have gotten much butter. I can even let my cat inside without having an allergy attack! My cat is happy.
