Oh The Damage I Can Do...

Today's Weight: 151.4 lbs
LIW from R1: 146.6 lbs
Gain: +5.0lbs

Yesterday's Weight: 151.6 lbs
Day Before Yesterday: 147.4 lbs

Day 3 of Round 2
Phase 2
First Day of Very Low Calorie Diet

In one loading day I was able to pack on 4-5 pounds! Is that impressive or what?! Geez. That's just outright wrong. I did some serious working out on Wednesday of this week and I know I tore muscle fibers. My thighs were killing me and last night I worked them out even more. I'm hoping part of that weight gain is not only fried pickles but water retention from injured muscle fibers. That's what I'm telling myself to console myself.

The two loading days were very different from the first round I did. I dreaded started the low calorie diet the first round and those two loading days all I could do was think of how I was going to starve to death in 48 hours. This time around I wasn't nervous, just a bit sad that I was going to be hungry again. Unlike other people who say they are not hungry during the VLCD portion of the diet I was hungry. Some days super hungry. A few days ago I thought I would just eat almond butter for 48 hours and that would be my loading. But I decided to reward myself for all the good work I had done and eat the things I had missed. Hence 5 pounds in one day. Funny though, cinnabons are not that yummy any more. Chocolate ice cream is yummy though. Fried pickles lost their charm. And pizza really didn't taste very good. And the stomach ache I had from eating all this stuff was a killer. And bloating! Oh my! I look forward to phase 3 again and felt much more secure in my choice for doing this diet. I don't think I can ever go back to eating how I was eating before.

I made some yogurt and kefir. I'm not sure if I'll be able to eat it but I made it from scratch and let it ferment/do it's thing according the SCD (specific carbohydrate diet) that only allows monosachorides for ease of digestion and to rule out additional sugar being left in the gut. I was going to try eating a little of it on Phase 2 right before roller deby practices. I will give up all other forms of exercise but giving up derby is hard and I know it interferes with my weight loss. I'm very curious to see how much weight I loss these next few days. Wish me luck!
